What is a feedback?
A feedback is an opportunity for a person to record a comment so as to express a personal feeling towards a particular transaction. The feedback should not be a personal "attack" and such tendency should be avoided. (People may face difficulties at times, just be understanding). Every member in eBay have a feedback profile.
Why is the feedback so important?
Have you ever concluded any purchase from a total stranger? Yes, don't you wish at that time that there was some form of reference you can make as to the reliability or otherwise of the seller? Recently I went through a situation like that when a friend asked me to buy for him a calculator from a seller in another country. The first question was "How reliable is this seller?" With the help of the feedback profile, I was able to assure my friend that this seller is genuine and reliable since the seller have a feedback of over 4,000 (which indicates that this seller have been trading with that many members on eBay). The second question was whether it is safe to send funds for the purchase before shipment. Since the seller accepts PayPal for payment, I feel good in completing the transaction. To cut the long story short, the transaction was completed to the satisfaction of all parties concerned.
Who should leave the feedback?
Any transaction on eBay will involve a seller and a buyer. So, both members should leave a feedback for the other member once the transaction is completed satisfactorily.
When should the feedback be written?
To understand the time frame for this, let us take a look at the logical process of a transaction on eBay.
First, the seller prepares the information and the listing of the item. Next, the buyer makes a commitment to purchase the item. Once the sale is confirmed, the seller sends an invoice to the buyer. The buyer then arranges to pay for the item using the seller's preferred method of payment. When payment is confirmed, the seller arranges to ship the item to the mailing address supplied by the buyer. The buyer should leave a feedback the moment the item arrives in good order and condition. The seller then leaves a feedback to satisfactorily conclude the whole transaction.
How to leave a feedback?
The buyer can use the "items I have won" area and locate the item. Then click on the "leave feedback" button.
Sellers can go to the "items I have sold" area and locate the item. Then click on the "leave feedback" button.
Remember in this global "kampung" called eBay, the feedback you leave will help other members assess the reliability of the person that they may want to be dealing with. This process will help to keep this community transparent and perhaps safer.
